We believe that an open line of communication between teachers and parents is essential to a successful dance experience. Our teachers will contact parents periodically to update on the students’ progress and any other pertinent class information. We will also email everyone regularly with all studio news, recital information, and information regarding new programs, special events, and contests/special offers. Please check your email and band regularly!  We encourage you to contact our office or your child’s teacher with any questions that arise throughout the year.

We chose email to share all of our information to cut back on paper waste to help the planet and to minimize the gathering and transference of bacteria that paper supports. Please make sure we have your correct email address on file. If you think you have missed a certain email, please contact us right away.

You assume all risk to your own health by leaving your house and engaging in a public activity. As of reading and signing this waiver, you have acknowledged that COVID-19 can be carried asymptomatically and that you can contract it despite best practices.

  • If any student has a sore throat, cough, sinus infection, ear ache, or they do not pass the temperature check at the door before class, they must stay home and rest. We will not admit students exhibiting symptoms of any kind into our facility. There will be an opportunity for makeup classes at a later date. Your health and safety comes first!
  • We are not responsible for injuries sustained in class, on premises, or at any related event.
  • We are not responsible for any illness contracted before, during, or after classes, events, or being in the vicinity.
  • There is no discount or refund for missed classes. Make-up classes are available to take and must be resolved within two months of the class the student missed. If you need a suggestion on which class to take as a makeup, your instructor will be happy to help!
  • Students should arrive 5 minutes early for temperature checks prior to attending class in person. Hand sanitizer will be provided and bathroom access is available. All students will exit the classroom 5 minutes before their normal end time to allow for classroom disinfection. Parents MUST be prompt as we will have limited staff and will not be able to sit with your child for an extended period of time. Students are not permitted to use the classrooms when a teacher is not present. Our lobby is not available at this time for safety reasons.

My child is taking Ballet with Joe on Thursdays at 5:30.

My child is dressed in dress code with a cover-up if needed, their own bottle of water, dance shoes that have not been worn outside, and a mask (recommended, not required)

I arrive in the D&J parking lot at 5:25 or earlier.

My child goes to either the lobby door to have their temperature taken.

My child will remove their street shoes as soon as possible to cut down on germs and dirt.

I wait to see that my child is either admitted to class or instructed to return home if they do not pass the temperature check.

At 6:25, class is finished. My child will change their shoes, put on their coverup, exit through the studio C door, and come straight back out to the car.

  • Class sizes will be limited for health and safety, and to observe state mandated guidelines. Thank you for being patient with us as we navigate this new virtual/personal hybrid experience. If you do not feel comfortable taking in-person classes, we will still be providing zoom access and streaming live classes on IG and FB.
  • Our studio will only be operating out of studios A (the first room off the lobby) and C (the big room.) B is too small to observe distancing guidelines. We will be using the lobby door to admit students and administer temperature checks, and the studio C door will be an exit.
  • Family discounts described are for immediate family only. Studio Management will make the final decision regarding family discount eligibility.
  • We are not responsible for lost or misplaced articles. Please limit the number of items you bring into the facility and put names on all belongings.
  • With the exception of water, food and drink are prohibited in all classrooms at all times.
  • Any student with an overdue balance of more than 90 days will not be allowed into class until payment in full is received or payment arrangements have been made.
  • Costume orders can only be picked up once the account is paid in full with no balance remaining.
  • All studio accounts have one primary account holder. All accounts and payments will be conducted online. This is the account holder that registers and signs the registration form. This account holder will be the one considered financially responsible for the account. We will be continuing online-only payments and registration. Any drop-ins and class cards will be available online on a first-come, first-serve basis. You must reserve and pay in advance. You can access your account and reserve classes through studio pro.

Online Account Portal

D&J Dance Studio is proud to offer an online solution for account holders to access all of their information online through studio pro. This service allows users to process payments for charges, enter and modify contact information, and register for classes from the comfort of their home - 24 hours a day.

Dress code

No street shoes will be allowed in the studio as they carry dirt and germs. All students must come in their dance clothes and street shoes; shoes will be removed as soon as possible.

We want to limit the number of items that enter our building for sanitization purposes.

Please bring your dance shoes with you, do not wear them. If you are taking hip-hop, carry clean shoes with you to put on in the studio, don’t wear them right off the street.

All students taking class in person should wear a mask as well, however, masks are recommended, not required.

No accessories. (This includes bracelets, rings, necklaces, and earrings other than studs)

Ballet shoes should be worn snug, with ties tucked in at all times teachers will not be able to tie and secure shoes for students due to social distancing. Ballet is the only class that requires a black leotard and pink tights. Skirts are optional. All other classes require regular dance attire.  Hair should be secured up and away from the face. A Ballet bun is preferred for Ballet classes.

Tap shoes must be secured with elastic or tap shoe ties. Ribbons do not stay tied. If you are looking for an easy solution, this is a tutorial to secure your child’s shoes with hair ties.

Class Parties & Food Allergies

Due to COVID-19 and state mandates, no class parties will be offered until further notice. However, please include any food allergies your child may have in your account information for future reference.

Special Events

We hope to offer parent’s nights out, trunk or treat, and our other signature events once it is safe to do so.

Annual Showcase

Our events and productions will also be conducted differently and in accordance with state guidelines. We are still dedicated to training and challenging our students to perform while they dance, be it in person or through zoom, until we can showcase our hard work safely.

Performance is part of any student’s dance education; however, participation is not mandatory. Our showcases are usually held in December, and each student will be required to attend classes regularly, attend rehearsals associated with the recital, and pay for any costume(s) needed for their number(s).

Payment: $110 includes one costume and one complimentary ticket, any additional costume is a $50 fee.

Main character: $160 includes one costume and one complimentary ticket, any additional costume is a $60 fee.

Costume Order Deadline: April 1st

Recital Tickets On Sale: TBA

Dress Rehearsals: TBA

D&J Dance Studio is proud to offer workshops throughout the season! Thanks to the flexibility of online streaming, we are able to offer pop-up classes with featured instructors from different parts of the state. This is a great way to supplement dancers’ weekly education in class. Students can practice learning choreography quickly, try different styles, and enhance their movement vocabulary. Keep a lookout on our social media or band app for future workshops!
